Known as a liquid rush, the Bhote Koshi River is closely associated with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Tibet was known as ‘Bhot’ in the ancient times. So, the river flowing from Tibet is called ‘Bhote Koshi’. With many challenging rapids, this river falls in the category of technical rivers and offers entertainment to lovers of rafting. The river is one of the biggest branches of the Sun Koshi river. It flows along the Arniko Highway.

The river in the upper of Bahrabise is quite narrow with steep hill sides. The Upper Bhote Koshi joins the Sun Koshi near Bahrabise. The lower Bhote Koshi rafting starts right from Lamosangu, where the Arniko Highway and the road to Jiri join.

Day 01: Drive to Lomosangu Dam from Kathmandu
