Marsyangdi River Rafting

The Marsyangdi River is another important river for rafting adventure in Nepal. It rises on the northern slopes of the Annapurna Himal flowing east through an arid valley around Manang and then swing south to join the Trisuli River at Mugling. The scenery is magnificent with every bend of the river opening up fresh vistas of some of the world’s highest mountains. The rafting provides ample of opportunities for photographer to capture the snapshots of boulders, some spectacular white water, green valley sides, and a magnificent backdrop of the world’s highest mountains. It’s worth mentioning that Marsyangdi River is one of the most outstanding grade Kayaking Rivers in the world. The river was opened for commercial rafting in 1996. The rapids in the river are tough and it requires a different approach that to other rivers like- Sun Koshi and Karnali.

Itinerary :

Day 01: Kathmandu - Besishahar
We take our early drive from Kathmandu for rafting. We reach Besishahar. After having lunch, we start our journey in water. We stay overnight at tent.

Day 02: Besishahar - Tarkughat
Our day begins with hot cup of morning tea or coffee. When the breakfast is served, we start our water challenge on the Marsyangdi river. It is really wonderful to have view beautiful blue and white-water glinting in the sunshine, magnificent river and constantly changing views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. We will be served packed lunch. Then, we will continue floating to Tarkughat. Upon arrival at Tarkughat camp, snacks will be served. Overnight in the camp.

Day 03: Tarkughat-Bimalnagar-Kathmandu
It is the last day of our trip. After breakfast, gears will be loaded on the vehicle and we go for rafting. Today’s trip will also be memorable, as we would experience a lot of exhilarating rapids, unfolding land escape, beautiful mountain backdrops, narrow gorges, vertical cliffs, open valley, and colorful villages.

Upon arrival at Bimalnagar; we will drive either back to Kathmandu or Pokhara or the Chitwan National Park.
